Abstract
The Forum acts as an advisory body to the United Nations Economic and Social Council, and it is charged with providing “expert advice and recommendations” to the Council and to “raise awareness and promote the integration and coordination of activities relating to indigenous issues within the United Nations system.” The website provides a variety of information and materials on the Forum. The history and mandate of the Forum are described in detail. Details of the Forum’s members, secretariat, and monthly calendar are available. Of particular interest to researchers are the articles, speeches, and official documents made available. Speeches include statements and messages delivered by Forum officials. Various background documents and resolutions are included in the official documents section listed by symbol number. The Forum’s session documents are also available.
