Abstract
The Sunlight Foundation was founded in 2006 with the goal of using technology to enable citizens to learn more about what their elected representatives are doing, to help reduce corruption, ensure greater transparency and accountability by government, and foster public trust in the institutions of democracy. The site features include Congressional ethics, political spending, earmarking, and watchdog information; blogs and reports monitoring Congress; grant information; and “Sunlight Seekr,” a tool using name or zip code to cross-search multiple web sites to keep tabs on Congress.
